We Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (ICM) are an international religious missionary congregation of 750+ members. We are from different cultures ministering in many countries, currently including: Belgium, Brazil, Burundi, Cameroun, Caribbean, Congo, Guatemala, Hong Kong, India, Mongolia, Philippines, Rome, South Africa, Taiwan, and the United States. Founded in India in 1897 by Mother Marie Louise DeMeester, we engage in a diversity of ministries with a preferential option for the poor of all nations. As we share the lives of our people around the world, we unite with them in “witnessing to the unity to which humankind is called in Jesus Christ.” (ICM Constitutions)

In the U.S.A., we minister in California, New Jersey, New York, and Texas. Our U.S. District’s congregational project is Proyecto Desarrollo Humano in South Texas on the border with Mexico where our Sisters work with Hispanic immigrants who are struggling to establish their families and give their children a brighter future.
